Peter Powell is a Corporate Director and Financial Consultant. He retired from a 27-year career in investment banking with BMO-Nesbitt Burns Inc. (and predecessor companies) where he served as Senior Vice-President and Managing Director. Prior to that, he was Vice-Chairman of Burns Fry Limited.
Mr. Powell is a Director of Timber Investments Ltd. and has served on the boards of Genyous Inc., Genyous Life Sciences Inc. and Rav Project Management Ltd. (now Canada Line). He is a past Governor of the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company, and a past Director of the Oarlock and Sail Wooden Boat Club.
Mr. Powell holds his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Loyola College and a Master of Business Administration from York University. Prior to retirement, he was a Chartered Business Valuator and Chartered Financial Analyst.
Mr. Powell will serve a three-year term on BC Hydro's Board, until May 8, 2011.
