Board - Profile image of Donald Triggs [138 x 175 px]Donald Triggs is currently the President of Arise Ventures Ltd., a family holding company. In June of 2007, Donald and his wife Elaine purchased land south of Oliver B.C. and are developing a new sustainably managed vineyard and winery.

Donald founded Vincor International Inc. of which he was the President and CEO from 1995 until it was purchased by Constellation wines, the world's largest wine company in 2006. By 2005 Vincor had become Canada's largest and North America's fourth largest wine company by revenue. Concurrently Vincor had developed a portfolio of 14 wineries in 6 countries around the world and with partner Allan Jackson, had created the Jackson-Triggs winery which by 2002 had become Canada's leading premium and ultra-premium wine brand with wineries in both the Okanagan Valley and the Niagara Peninsula. With Chief Clarence Louise, Don negotiated the agreement for the development of over 800 acres of band land into vineyard and the joint venture N K Mip winery.

In 2003, Mr. Triggs created the Triggs Premium Vinifera Lecture Series at Brock University's Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute. Don is presently a director of the Board of Grapes for Humanity, is a past Chair and director of About Face and also a past director of Brock University and the Shaw Theatre Festival. Don also serves on the Board of Governors of the Ivey Business School of the University of Western Ontario and, in 2006 established the Donald L Triggs Chair in International Business at the Ivey Business School. Don was a director of Samsonite Corporation from 2000 to 2006.

Mr. Triggs has been presented with a number of prestigious awards including an Honourary Doctorate of Commerce from Ryerson University in 2007, the American Marketing Association's Marketing Hall of Legends inductee in 2006, an Honourary Doctorate of Laws from Brock University in 2004, and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Ontario and Canada in 2003, to name a few.

Mr. Triggs holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours Economics) in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
