Managing vegetation at our facilities

Our facilities require measures to stop the growth and spread of weeds

The plants that grow near our facilities, including generation sites, substations, microwave sites, district offices, and pole yards, can be hazardous to people and the reliability of our electrical service to you.

We maintain and control problematic plants using an "integrated pest management" decision-making process that uses a combination of techniques to suppress pests.

We also take responsibility for controlling:

  • Noxious weeds which are dangerous to people, animals, or crops.
  • Invasive weeds, which are plants that have been introduced into the B.C. environment that threaten naturally-occurring and indigenous plants.
