How often do you read my meter?
Most of our meters send your electricity use information back to us automatically, three times a day. A small number of smart meters are still being read manually, once every 54 to 66 days. Radio-off and legacy meters are also read every two months.
Here’s some help in fully understanding a few terms on your bill:
Meter number: Each digital meter in our system comes with a seven-digit identification number that can be found on the actual meter, and at top of the “Meter reading” section of your bills.
Meter reading: Under the ‘Meter reading’ area of your bill, you’ll see calculations for energy use (in kWh) and, for some business customers, calculations for demand (in kW) and KVarh, which are used to calculate possible power factor surcharges.
