BC Hydro runs training seminars, webinars, and workshops that provide Alliance members with opportunities to network. They're also a chance to learn about BC Hydro programs and how you can help your customer access incentives.

Codes & Standards for Lighting Workshop

BC Hydro and Illuminating Engineering Society B.C. (IESBC) are running a seminar on the requirements of ASHRAE / IES Standard 90.1-2016 for lighting systems.

Location: BC Hydro office, 333 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver
Date: Thursday, March 15, 2018, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Speakers: Eric Richman, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Greg McCall, City of Vancouver

We are offering Alliance members a reduced rate of 50% to attend this course. A code to receive this discount at registration was emailed to Alliance members. If you did not receive it, please email and we will send it to you.

Alliance Industry Trend Series

The Alliance Industry Trend Series began in 2018, featuring a guest speaker on an interesting industry topic or emerging trend, followed by a program update from the Alliance group. In addition to gaining insight on industry trends and program updates, these events are always a great opportunity to network with others in the industry. Breakfast will be provided.

Speaker: Ken Lau, Measurement & Verification Manager, BC Hydro

Ken will be providing a presentation on the potential effects of lighting retrofits on a facility's power factor. His presentation will touch on what power factor is, how it is measured, how it potentially impacts your BC Hydro bill and ways to mitigate low power factor. The presentation will be followed by an update from the Alliance team.

Alliance training centre: online courses available

The Alliance training centre has some helpful, self-directed eCourses that can help you better navigate our customer incentive applications and more. The eCourses are free, and can be completed when it's convenient for you.
