New training materials have been added to make it easier for employees

We want to make it easy for you to help new employees get up to speed on working with the Alliance and BC Hydro's energy management programs. So based on your feedback, we've added new training materials to the Alliance Training Centre.

"We started with the basics – differences between rebates and incentives, and how our programs work," says Malcolm Wheeler, who works with the Alliance. "And we dive into the details as well, such as how to submit applications. The Alliance Training Centre is a great starting point for your new employees and member firms working with us for the first time."

How to use the Alliance Training Centre

For new employees, the Alliance Reference Guide is the best place to start. Make it the first step in their Alliance onboarding process.

Here's how to find it.

  1. Log in to the training site. If you don't already have an account, create a Learner Account.
  2. Once logged in, select My Training
  3. Open the Alliance Reference Guide

The Reference Guide allows you to follow a series of short-form video tutorials that detail the role the Alliance plays in BC Hydro's energy management programs and projects. Each video covers a specific topic and ranges from 2 to 4 minutes long.

"New employees have a lot to learn, and we try to make the onboarding process as engaging as possible," says Wheeler. "We have also designed the materials to accommodate a variety of learning styles."

After completing the video tutorials, employees can access other training guides at their own pace. These guides can be printed and kept handy, or referenced later by new and experienced employees alike.
