If you're in the market for a new appliance, consider the benefit of purchasing an ENERGY STAR® appliance to help you save on your electricity bill.

Between May 1 and June 15, 2017 you can get rebates on the most efficient ENERGY STAR clothes washers, dryers and refrigerators.

See the rebates available and purchase your appliance between May 1 and June 15, 2017. In addition to the rebates we offer, you may also be eligible for rebates through the manufacturer, retailer, or your local municipality. See complete list of rebates below.

For example if you're a resident of Coquitlam that has purchased qualifying Samsung clothes washer from The Home Depot, you would be eligible for a total rebate amount of $400.

Here's how: $100 BC Hydro rebate + $100 Samsung rebate + $100 The Home Depot rebate + $100 City of Coquitlam rebate = $400 total rebates.

Available Rebates

  • Save $25 - $100 on select clothes washers, refrigerators and clothes dryers.

The Home Depot

  • Save an additional $25 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers, refrigerators and clothes dryers.

Trail Appliances

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select Samsung ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers, refrigerators and clothes dryers.

Samsung

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers, refrigerator and clothes dryers purchased at any retailer.

LG

  • Save an additional $25 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators purchased at The Home Depot.
  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers, refrigerators, clothes dryers purchased at Best Buy.

 

Additional rebates are available on select ENERGY STAR clothes washers if you reside in one of the below municipalities.

Abbotsford/Mission

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

City of Richmond

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

City of Nanaimo

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

Township of Langley

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

City of New Westminster

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

City of Coquitlam

  • Save an additional $50 - $100 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

City of Vancouver

  • Save an additional $50 on select ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers.

District of West Vancouver

Apply

Applying for multiple rebates? You only have to submit one application.

Once you've purchased your new appliance, follow the steps below to apply for your rebate(s), including those offered by manufacturers, retailers and municipalities.

You have 60 days from the time you purchase your appliance to apply for your rebate and submit your proof of purchase.

How to get your appliance rebate

  1. Complete the online rebate application and upload a copy of your proof of purchase to apply for your rebate(s) within 60 days of your appliance purchase. Include scanned copies of your proof of purchase. You only have to submit one application form even if you're applying for multiple rebates.
  2. Once you complete and submit the form, a copy of your completed application will be emailed to you to. This confirms that you have successfully submitted your application.
  3. You'll receive another email once we have reviewed and approved your application for payment (in the form of a cheque or bill credit). This email may take about 8 - 10 weeks to receive from your original application submission.

Please note that details such as the store name and address where you made the purchase, the make and the model of the appliance(s), the invoice number, and the date of purchase must be legible on the receipt.

Track your rebate online

Track the status of your rebate online. Use the tracking number provided in the email sent to you with your completed application form.

Commercial customers

Qualifying businesses are eligible to apply for rebates on appliance purchases made between May 1 and June 15, 2017. If you're a commercial customer you can complete your application online.

How eligible appliances are selected

  • Clothes washers with an Integrated Modified Energy Factor (IMEF) of 2.82 – 2.91 are eligible for a $50 rebate.
  • Clothes washers with an Integrated Modified Energy Factor (IMEF) of 2.92 or higher are eligible for a $100 rebate.
  • Refrigerators that are 10% more efficient than the federal standard are eligible for a $25 rebate.
  • Refrigerators that are 15% more efficient than the federal standard are eligible for a $100 rebate.
  • Clothes dryers that are ENERGY STAR labelled are eligible for a $50 rebate.
  • Clothes dryers with a Combined Energy Factor (CEF) of 4.3 or higher and ENERGY STAR gas clothes dryers are eligible for a $100 rebate.

Many small and large appliances can be recycled instead of going to the landfill. Visit the Recycling Council of British Columbia or call 1 800 667 4321 to find out what can be recycled and where to recycle them.
