Help B.C. prepare for a plug-in future

EV Tracking Fleetcarma Plug

Join Charge BC, get a plug-and-play device for your electric vehicle

You can help British Columbia prepare for a future with more electric vehicles by providing insight into EV driver charging. By understanding when and where EVs charge, and how much energy is consumed, you’ll help pave the way for future drivers by ensuring that the power system is ready for a plug-in future.

Why sign up?

You’ll get an electric vehicle plug-and-play device, the FleetCarma C2. This hardware talks to your vehicle to understand its energy consumption when it’s recharged, as well as the state-of-charge. This data is made available to you, the vehicle owner, via online dashboards. Working with BC Hydro and the Government of B.C., the technology company FleetCarma will combine your data – which will be anonymous in their system - with that of all other participants to get a better understanding of the impact of EV charging on the grid.

Here's how it works

Participation is easy, fast, and it pays.

  1. Sign up. Start supporting EV adoption in less time than it takes to get a coffee.
  2. Connect. We’ll send you a FleetCarma C2 device to plug-into your EV.
  3. Track your stats. Download your driving data to learn more about your habits. See how much auxiliary power, such as heating, cooling and radio use, has on your battery power. Learn how outside temperature affects your driving range. See if there’s any degradation in your battery.
  4. Stick with us. Stay connected until April 30, 2019. We’re all going to learn a lot from this.

Who's eligible to join Charge BC?

You’re eligible for this program if you live in B.C. and own or lease a plug-in electric vehicle – either a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle or battery electric vehicle.
