Dave Cobb appointed president and CEO of BC Hydro

VANCOUVER – BC Hydro has announced the appointment of Dave Cobb as the new president and chief executive officer of BC Hydro, effective May 25.

"Dave comes to BC Hydro with a strong mix of business experience, senior leadership skills, and management of major projects," said Dan Doyle, Chair of BC Hydro's Board of Directors. "His strategic thinking and issues management experience will be a great fit for BC Hydro. I am confident that under his leadership we will deliver the many objectives outlined in the recent Clean Energy Act."

Cobb recently served as the executive vice-president and deputy CEO of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), where he was responsible for leading a broad portfolio, including games operations, finances, revenue planning, and communications.

Prior to joining VANOC, Cobb spent 12 years with Orca Bay Sports Entertainment (Vancouver Canucks), including senior roles as chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
