Five B.C. businesses win Energy Fix lighting makeovers
Thanks to their own diligence and the support of online voters, five lucky B.C. businesses just won $5,000 lighting makeovers.
Now in its third year, the Energy Fix contest is designed to help small businesses improve their energy efficiency and to inspire others to follow suit. And this year, the contest switched from a single grand prize winner to five regional winners.
And the winners are...
- Northcoast Health & Fitness, Terrace
- Colonel Baker House, Cranbrook
- Salmar Grand Cinemas, Salmon Arm
- Mildred's Memorabilia, Qualicum Beach
- Roberts Roost RV Park, Quesnel
How the winners won
Businesses and non-profits in five regions across B.C. nominated themselves, explaining why they wanted to do an upgrade and answering questions about their business. Two finalists were selected in each region and put to an online, public vote.
This year's five winners follow in the footsteps of two previous grand prize winners, Donald's Market in Vancouver and The Fernwood Inn in Victoria. Energy Fix has helped raise awareness about energy efficiency in various ways.
