Watch Energy Fix videos, learn... and enter to win

This past summer, the historic Fernwood Inn in Victoria received an "energy makeover" from BC Hydro. Now, the 100-year-old inn is saving $4,800 per year in electricity costs and even more in maintenance, showing how much small- and medium-sized businesses can save by undertaking simple energy efficiency projects.

Now it's your turn to win.

To tell the story about the upgrades at the Fernwood Inn, BC Hydro has produced four online videos. Watch the videos to learn how you can save energy and you get a chance to win.

How to enter

Just answer the question after each video and for each one, you'll be entered into a prize draw. The grand prize is a $500 gift certificate to each of Home Depot and London Drugs. There are three runner-up prizes of $250 at Home Depot.

The contest closes October 31.

The makeover at the Fernwood Inn included upgrades to lighting, refrigeration, the kitchen hood fan, and the building envelope. You can read all the details in a full case study.

Says Fernwood General Manager Mike Colwill, "It feels great to have the upgrades done. A lot of the things were very simple steps that any business owner could do that make a huge difference – it's just a matter of getting around to actually doing it."
