BC Hydro power is some of the most competitively priced in North America. BC Hydro customers, for example, pay about two thirds of the cost paid by Toronto Hydro customers and one third of those in San Francisco.

Even with the rate increases necessary to regenerate our system, BC Hydro will maintain its competitive advantage thanks to our legacy of clean hydro-electric facilities that were created with the visionary foresight of previous generations and the benefits of our natural geography.

Meanwhile, BC Hydro continues to keep rates affordable by making our operations more efficient and introducing new conservation programs that will help offset rate increases for the various customer segments – residential, commercial and industrial.
