BC Hydro offers free "train-the-trainer" workshops to fire fighter training officers. Learn how to train your fellow fire fighters on the dangers of electrical hazards they may encounter when fighting fires involving electricity.

Fire Training Officer Train-the-Trainer Workshops

Electrical Safety for Fire Fighter's Train-the-Trainer workshops are designed to assist you in educating fellow fire fighters on the dangers of common electrical hazards that may be encountered when fighting fires involving electricity and to make fire fighters better equipped to evaluate risks, make decisions and take actions to keep everyone safe. The workshop is delivered by instructors from the Electrical Industry Training Institute (EITI).

All Fire Training Officers in British Columbia are welcome to attend a workshop at the location and on the date convenient to them.

Additional information

  • Participants receive a set of electrical safety training materials, including an instructor guide, comprehensive instruction manual, CD with PowerPoint presentations, and DVD with video
  • Workshop takes a minimum of 5 hours and is free-of-charge
