Trade worker training

BC Hydro offers Electrical Safety Training for trade workers so they can work safely around power lines.

Who should attend: Trade workers who work around high-voltage power lines, either overhead or underground.
Where: Sessions can be held at your place of work or the Electrical Industry Training Institute in Surrey, B.C.
When: Ongoing (sessions can be set up as requested).

Fire fighters: Train-the-Trainer Workshops

BC Hydro offers train-the-trainer workshops to Fire Training Officers to enable them to deliver electrical safety training to their fellow fire fighters.

The workshop teaches fire fighters about common electrical hazards they may encounter when fighting fires or in rescue situations, and how to keep themselves, their colleagues and the public safe during an incident. The workshop was designed jointly by BC Hydro, BC Transmission Corporation and the BC Fire Training Officer’s Association.
