The Peace/Williston Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program is a joint initiative of BC Hydro and the provincial fish and wildlife agencies launched in 1988 to compensate for the impacts to fish and wildlife caused by the creation of the Williston and Dinosaur reservoirs. At its inception, a fund was established from which the annual earnings are managed to maintain the program in perpetuity.
