Power Smart Alliance

Alliance members are recognized experts in energy efficiency who are knowledgeable about Power Smart programs as well as the latest energy solutions. They play an important role in helping BC Hydro meet its conservation goals by implementing energy-saving initiatives that not only meet customers' needs, but also help them make smart investments.

Current membership is drawn from manufacturers, distributors, contractors, consulting engineers, architects and other organizations focused on industrial and commercial energy conservation. Membership is free and open to all industry firms that meet the Alliance's eligibility requirements.

Alliance member firms enjoy a wide range of learning, promotional and business benefits, including:

• Access to industry trends and innovations through participation in Power Smart events and industry trade shows
• Increased recognition and exposure through association with the Power Smart brand, be it through approved use of the Power Smart logo or special promotional initiatives
• Information and access to ongoing learning opportunities, enabling member firms to hone their expertise and stay informed about the latest energy conservation technologies
• Business and networking opportunities that allow members to develop and expand their professional network and customer base
• Customer referrals through the Alliance's referrals process, which give member firms access to energy efficiency-related job opportunities with BC Hydro customers

Application process

All industry professionals who work on energy efficient projects in B.C.'s industrial and commercial marketplace may register to join the Power Smart Alliance. Membership is free and renewable every two years.

In order to become a member, all industry firms must meet certain eligibility requirements and register with the Alliance, whether they are new applicants or previously have been members. Each industry sector has its own eligibility requirements and application form, which ensure that members have specific expertise and business qualifications.
