The BC Energy Plan mandates that BC Hydro offset 50% of growth in electricity demand through conservation by 2020. That’s an aggressive, important target that cannot be met solely through the application of existing technologies in B.C.
New technologies and approaches are necessary to capture new energy saving opportunities, and that’s what the Power Smart Technology Innovation team is about. Through the Demonstration Project Fund we work with customers to demonstrate achievable energy savings from commercially available or near commercial ready technologies.
