Kesler grew up in Livonia, Michigan, idolizing fellow Livonian Mike Modano, which may explain the way this guy skates. As one of the fastest on a Canucks team blessed with plenty of speed, this 6-foot-2, 205-pound first-round draft pick now ranks as one of the premier two-way players in the National Hockey League.
At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Kesler excelled for a surprising U.S. team that was unbeaten throughout round-robin, quarter-final and semi-final games, then lost a heartbreaking overtime contest to host Canada in the gold medal final.
When away from the ice, you may spot him in Vancouver with his wife and three dogs. And with a contract extension with the Canucks signed through the 2015-2016 season, we'll be seeing lots more of Kesler around the city.
