Why it mattersBritish Columbia is facing an enormous conservation challenge: offset 66% of the expected increase in electricity demand by 2020 through conservation. To help us get there, Power Smart has challenged British Columbians to cut their electricity consumption at least 10%. We reached our first goal of 210,000 members working on that task, signed up to Team Power Smart by the end of the 2010 Winter Games, and we continue to grow membership – we're now at 300,000 and counting! – and save electricity. |
And then there are our contest winners . . .British Columbians continue to win great prizes after joining Team Power Smart and entering our monthly draws.
Dozens of team members won tickets to 2010 Winter Games events, and other prizes have included: Outdoor clotheslines; $100 Lululemon gift certificates; RK17 gear and a Ryan Kesler-signed Canucks jersey; Whitecaps gear and tickets; Steve Nash Fitness World & Sports Club memberships.
