The Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP) will provide qualified low-income BC Hydro residential account holders with a home energy evaluation, the installation of energy saving products, and personalized energy efficiency advice. All of this is free of charge to the participant. Energy saving products that may be installed include:
Every home is different. Your home evaluator will determine which energy efficiency upgrades your home is eligible for. The installation of some products may require multiple visits. Help for Housing ProvidersBC Hydro Power Smart offers bulk delivery of the Energy Conservation Assistance Program for housing organizations with multiple units. Eligibility for bulk projects is calculated using the average electric consumption for the entire housing complex as well as evaluating the organizations low income criteria. Housing providers will work with BC Hydro's Program Delivery Agents to coordinate the project with their tenants. This might include notifying tenants, holding a community meeting, and helping set-up appointment schedules.
