Energy management teamAn energy manager can assist you in many ways, from assessing your current energy practices and building a customized energy management plan, right through to engaging your employees, and implementing and measuring energy-saving activities. The energy manager can be a contractor or you can choose to have a qualified employee within your organization fill the role. Either way, Power Smart will provide you with flexible funding and the support you need to make your energy manager a success.

If you are an industrial customer billed under transmission rate 1823 or distribution rate 1200, 1201, 1210 or 1211, you may be eligible to participate in one of these offers.

How it works

These programs, which can be customized to suit your needs, offer several options to help you afford either a full-time or part-time energy manager who will help you reduce your energy consumption over the long term.  Which offer is best for you will depend on the size of your organization and your particular need.

Dedicated Energy Manager
This program provides you with several funding options towards hiring a full-time energy management resource. Intended for Industrial customers with an electric spend greater than $500,000 or 10 GWh/yr.

Energy Manager Consortium
If your organization does not require a full-time energy manager, this option [PDF, 831 Kb] allows you to share the services of a part-time energy manager with members of a consortium. Power Smart funding towards the costs of the energy manager are shared amongst these members, so you save while reaping the benefits of having an energy management professional on your team. Intended for similar industries with consumption less than $500,000 or 10 GWh/yr.

Energy Manager Association
Intended for registered non-profit Industrial trade associations, this offer provides you with the opportunity to offer your membership the professional skills of a part-time energy manager. Eligible customers would have a consumption between $50,000 to $500,000 a year.

Energy Manager Coach
If you have a new or developing energy manager on your team, Power Smart offers funding for part-time coaching resources to assist your energy manager with skills development. This speeds the learning curve and your organization realizes benefits sooner. Intended for customers with a Power Smart funded energy manager.
