Molson recognized as a leader

At this year's Power Smart Excellence Awards, Molson Canada was recognized as an energy leader for their commitment to reducing their use of water, electricity and fuel by a minimum of 5% a year.

By instituting monitoring, targeting and reporting systems [PDF, 277 Kb] to measure their energy use for each site and launching an employee energy awareness program in 2008 called "The Power to Make a Difference", Molson Canada became a leader in energy efficiency. The Vancouver brewery is now the most energy-efficient plant in the country.


Large Industry funding & resources The Power Smart Partners Transmission program is for you if you are billed under rate schedule 1823. This program supports customers such as mines, chemical plants, large sawmills, pulp and paper mills, and large manufacturing operations.		Medium Industry funding & resources The Power Smart Partners Distribution program is for you if you are billed under rate schedule 1200, 1201, 1210 or 1211. This program supports customers such as wood products, manufacturing and food processing operations with an annual electricity bill over $200,000.


Small Industry funding & resources This program is for customers with an electricity bill between $50,000 and $200,000. It supports customers in manufacturing, food and beverage processing and wood products.		New Plant Design This program is for you if you are a plant owner or developer planning a new greenfield facility or expanding an existing facility and looking for support to control costs.


Customer recognition Every year, BC Hydro presents the Power Smart Excellence Awards and the Power Smart Leaders designation to customers who are proven leaders in conservation. We also recognize customers who have made a pledge to conservation and energy efficiency through our Power Smart Partners Recognition program.
