Thanks for your interest in the trial program. We have successfully reached our volunteer quota.
If you are interested in signing up for future trial programs, please complete this form.
We are looking for volunteers living in single family detached homes in Capital Regional District to help us test programmable communicating thermostats and water heater controls. Eligible volunteers will receive programmable thermostats to control their electric baseboard heating and a water heater controller to manage their water heater.
These devices use wireless communications to help more efficiently manage electric baseboard heating and water heaters during peak demand times on the grid. The thermostats also provide you with greater control and feedback over your electricity use.
Volunteers with baseboard heating and electric water heaters may be eligible to participate. Participants will receive the technologies free of charge and also get a $40 bill credit for participating.
We are looking for 50 volunteers for a trial running from October 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
