BC Hydro applauds the City of Victoria for their achievements in energy efficiency since becoming a Power Smart Partner in 2002.
Since then, the City has saved 820,000 kWh of energy through various initiatives offered by the program and won the 2007 Turn It Off Challenge – beating out over 60 other local governments in a a contest to earn points for creating awareness and reducing consumption.
Victoria plans to hire a BC Hydro-sponsored Energy Manager to help them develop an integrated approach to conservation.
