When you buy a Power Smart home, you'll enjoy greater comfort, lower energy costs and less impact on the environment.
Our Power Smart New Home Program encourages builders and developers to incorporate energy-efficient products and design at construction, which is the most cost-effective way to save energy in the home. Each home features the EnerGuide for New Houses label.
To achieve a Power Smart Gold label, the house must achieve at least EnerGuide 80, which indicates that it is a highly energy-efficient new house. A Power Smart Gold labelled home uses 30 per cent less energy than an average home in today's market.
When buying a new home, look for the Power Smart label.

Customers who purchase a Power Smart home may be eligible for a 10% refund on their mortgage loan insurance premium from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
