Energy-Efficient Lighting Design offer provides financial incentives and tools to help building developers and their design teams create and install more effective and energy-efficient lighting in new (or major building retrofits) commercial, institutional and multi-unit residential building (MURB) projects.

TIP: For multi-unit residential buildings, it’s easy to apply lighting incentives for common areas such as underground parking, exterior lighting, hallways, lobby areas, stairways, exercise rooms, and others.

The offer

  • Energy-Efficient Lighting Design Study. A $1,000 incentive for creating a lighting design that exceeds building code by 10% or greater savings and the required documentations that show this energy efficient lighting design.
  • Energy-Efficient Lighting Capital Incentive. Power Smart provides enticing capital incentives to install the new lighting based on the total electrical savings of the energy-efficient design. The “Lighting Calculator” excel spreadsheet tool is used to assist your lighting designer to properly document an energy efficient lighting design that exceeds building code and calculates the capital incentive for the lighting system.

Eligibility

  • For any new (or major building retrofit) commercial, institutional or multi-unit residential buildings with potential savings higher than 10,000 kWh
  • Have not ordered or purchased the lighting equipment/system(s)
