Our Power Smart New Home Program offers financial incentives and marketing support to builders and developers who build qualified energy-efficient single-family homes*, townhomes, or multi-family residential buildings.
Qualified homes receive a Power Smart Silver or Gold label and an EnerGuide rating. The label and EnerGuide rating ensure buyers that they are purchasing a home that will help them save money year after year – a Power Smart home.
* Power Smart labels single-family homes and townhouses, performance rated through the services of a Cerifited Energy Evaluator under the auspices of the EnerGuide Rating Service.

The Passive Design Toolkit is a resource co-developed between the City of Vancouver and BC Hydro Power Smart.
The tool kits provide best practices for energy efficiency and sustainable construction in new homes and larger buildings. The City of Vancouver Passive Design Program aims to not only educate City staff and the development community about green building techniques but to align regulations and bylaws, making it easier to design and construct green buildings.
