Important information about Power Smart program changes

General Service Lighting Legislation – Impacts to Lighting Incentives:

The passing of the General Service Lighting (GSL) legislation at the end of December 2014 will impact Power Smart incentive levels for retrofits of existing screw-in incandescent 60W and 40W A lamps, in that the accepted wattages for each lamp will be reduced. 60W incandescent lamps will use a baseline consumption of 48W and 40W lamps will use a baseline consumption of 28W.

The Power Smart Partner Express program has automatically updated these wattages within the application system.

Other programs, including Power Smart Partners Custom incentive program and SIP, Alliance members are reminded to use the new lighting calculator [MS Excel, 443 KB] for projects. The calculator incorporates the new lower baselines within the spreadsheet.

Power Smart Incentives for Tubular LEDs

Tubular LED replacements for T12 and T8 linear fluorescent lamps are achieving wider commercial acceptance. However, Power Smart is not currently offering prescriptive (one-to-one) replacement incentives in the Power Smart Express program.

TLED products are considered in Power Smart Partner Custom and Self-Serve Incentive Program (SIP) offers, however.

Get a full update on Tubular LED incentives in our Power Smart Express updates section.

Bonus offer for Self-Serve Incentive (SIP) projects ends soon

The bonus offer for SIP eligible lighting or compressed air (40 to 200 horsepower) is ending soon. Project applications must be submitted for pre-approval by December 31, 2014 and completed (submit online declaration and invoices) by March 31, 2015.
