Chief Executive Officer
Bob Elton was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BC Hydro in November 2003.

Role and Responsibilities
The CEO is the senior management officer of BC Hydro. The CEO leads the executive management team, and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the corporation. Together with the Board Chair, the CEO acts as a primary spokesperson for BC Hydro, ensuring effective relations with the Government of B.C., the public and other stakeholders.
Although not a Board member, the CEO has access to the same information as any Director, except when relating to the CEO's performance, as appropriate.

Performance Evaluation
The Board's Human Resources Committee is responsible for the CEO's performance evaluation process.
