The Waneta Transaction

BC Hydro is acquiring a one third undivided interest in the Waneta hydroelectric facility, located on the Pend d'Oreille River in south eastern British Columbia, from Teck Metals Ltd. Waneta is a long-term resource that will supply BC Hydro with 162 – 256 Megawatts of dependable capacity and 865 – 1,008 Gigawatt-hours per year of firm energy. The acquisition will provide BC Hydro with a cost-effective source of Clean or Renewable generation located within B.C.
