Written Comment Process for the Long-Term Electricity Transmission Inquiry

Background: Resource Options information is one of BC Hydro's inputs to the British Columbia Utilities Commission's Long-Term Electricity Transmission Inquiry process. BC Hydro hosted a workshop on July 23, 2009 to engage interested parties in the Resource Options component of the Inquiry. At this workshop, BC Hydro noted that a Written Comment Process would be made available for those interested in providing information on resource option potential within B.C. This is the first opportunity for First Nations and participants to provide comments and/or data to the Inquiry. Other opportunities will follow in the First Nations-only consultation process and the British Columbia Utilities Commission Inquiry process. Participants and First Nations may also make submissions directly to the British Columbia Utilities Commission Inquiry process.

Resource Options Written Comment Process: BC Hydro is asking for comments and information on potential data gaps with BC Hydro's resource potential assessment, which will be collected through a questionnaire.

1. BC Hydro will review all Questionnaires submitted.
2. Questionnaires submitted with all of the required fields filled out will be included as part of BC Hydro's September 18th draft submission on Resource Options.
3. There is the option of keeping some Questionnaire information confidential.
4. All non-confidential Questionnaire information submitted will be included "as is" as part of BC Hydro's September 18th draft submission on Resource Options.
5. BC Hydro will use the additional Questionnaire information to assess the level of confidence of the data.
6. The deadline for submissions is August 14, 2009.

How to Participate: Those who wish to participate in BC Hydro's Resource Options Written Comment Process are asked to do the following.

1. Download the Questionnaire shown below.

2. Complete the Questionnaire as per the instructions provided in the document.
3. Send the completed Questionnaire thru email by August 14, 2009.
