Round One Consultation Workshops
The first round of consultation workshops has now concluded. Workshops were held in June and July, 2009 in Surrey, Campbell River, Nanaimo, Abbotsford, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Fort St. John, Prince George and Prince Rupert. View the presentations and meeting notes. We also received many questions and requests for information. In response to the questions and comments we heard, BC Hydro and BC Transmission Corporation have prepared Information Sheets and a Questions & Answers document. View the Energy Trade Information Sheet [PDF, 103 Kb], IPP Supply Information Sheet [PDF, 124 Kb], WUP Information Sheet [PDF, 94 Kb] and Questions & Answers.

Round Two Consultation Workshops
We regret to inform you that due to unavoidable delays in the filing of BC Transmission Corporation and BC Hydro’s initial evidence, we are postponing our second round of workshops previously scheduled for October and November. These workshops will be rescheduled when the initial evidence has been filed.

Round Three Consultation Workshops
The schedule will be available in early 2010.

Capacity Funding
Participant and travel funding is available to attend the regional workshops. View the details of participant and travel funding [PDF, 1.2 Mb].

Applications are also being accepted for capacity funding to conduct studies and technical reviews of the evidence of BC Hydro and BC Transmission Corporation. View the details of capacity funding for studies and technical reviews [PDF, 49 Kb]. Given the delays in the filing of BC Transmission Corporation and BC Hydro’s initial evidence, the original deadline set for proposals for capacity funding for technical reviews and studies will be extended.

About the Consultation
Since May of 2009, when we began this consultation, we have sent a number of letters to First Nations, Tribal Councils, the First Nations Energy and Mining Council, the BC Assembly of First Nations, the Union of BC Indian Chiefs and the First Nations Summit with information about the Long Term Electricity Transmission Inquiry and this consultation as these processes evolved.
