GMS Units 1-5 Turbine Replacement Project
BC Hydro is planning to replace the Gordon M. Shrum (GMS)Units 1-5 turbines with the intent of reducing runner failure risk, decreasing maintenance costs and improving operational efficiency. This project will involve designing and manufacturing new turbine runners, wicket gates, wicket gate operating mechanisms and head covers and overhauling the remaining turbine components.
