The first spill from the new spillway gates at Ruskin Dam took place this past December. The new gates are a part of ongoing upgrades to improve the reliability and efficiency of the facility – located on the Stave River in Mission – and improve safety and seismic stability. A two lane road and pedestrian walkway will also be constructed at the top of the dam as a part of the upgrades, which are expected to be completed in 2017.
