B.C.'s climate action targets BC Hydro Power smart

This Week. The latest news and updates from BC Hydro.

The BC Government has released an update to its Climate Leadership Plan, including plans to electrify B.C.'s oil and gas industry with clean and renewable BC Hydro power. Also last week, we announced that an overhead transmission line is the best choice to replace the current line that goes through the George Massey Tunnel once a bridge replaces the tunnel. And the Terrace Standard was on hand to take images of BC Hydro crews working way up in the air on power lines between Terrace and Smithers.

Have you ever seen a goose up a pole? We're using plastic decoys to deter resident osprey from building nests on our power poles in the East Kootenay region. "Goose guards" help keep the protected species away from live equipment, and decrease the risk of nests interfering with our lines and causing outages.
