Outage Info on your Mobile

What's new: Map view, outages by GPS, iPhone-friendly

BC Hydro customers can continue to view outage information from their web-enabled wireless mobile device. But there are some exciting changes and added features.

Mobile outagesCustomers can now access outage reports in a map view, and for those with GPS-enabled phones, can get outages updates for  their exact location.

Our upgraded mobile site is also now accessible for those with iPhone, Blackberry, Android and other smart phones. For details, see our mobile features page.

Steps to get outage information

  1. Access bchydro.com through your mobile browser
  2. Select 'Outages'
  3. Search by list, address or by GPS location

Please note that when selecting an outage within a selected area, only one outage will be listed. View each page or select to view details of a specific outage, going to the next page to view any additional outage locations.

Outage details will include:

• Time of outage
• Estimated restoration time
• Number of customers affected
• Outage type/cause
• Last updated time
• Approximate area affected

Frequently asked questions

Every time I try to download the bchydro.com mobile website, I get an Error message.
You may not have mobile web access enabled on your cell phone/mobile device. Please talk to your provider. Generally there is a service charge for mobile web access.

I do not see my outage listed under any region or area.
Only "known" outages will be listed. If you do not see your outage, please call 1 888 POWERON (1 888 769 3766) or *49376 on your mobile phone to report the outage to BC Hydro.

I bookmarked the outage details page and now I cannot find any additional information?
Once an outage has been restored, an outage details page will no longer be available. You will need to browse to find any new outage information.
