June 2010
You know the saying, "everything important we learned in kindergarten"? It seems even industrial efficiency can be enhanced by those early lessons, because this month, our stories are all about sharing. The B.C. Food Processors Association is helping members improve sustainability by sharing packing lines and transport trucks (sharing the reduced costs, too). Over at MacKenzie Sawmill, electricity bills are down as much as 16% partly because equipment is more effectively sharing the compressed air. And some companies are working with BC Hydro to share energy managers – getting the benefits of expertise without the overhead of a full-time staff person. Below, we share their stories with you.
