Your Power Poll panellists making their voice heard

We want to hear from all our customers. We value your opinions, feedback and insights when we're making decisions and plans. But with 1.8 million customers spread out across B.C., we can't drop in to have coffee with every one of you.

That's why in January, we started Your Power Poll, our online customer research panel. It's a community of BC Hydro customers who are interested in sharing their ideas and opinions about energy-related issues with BC Hydro first-hand by participating in brief, confidential, Internet-only surveys and discussions.

Since we started, Your Power Poll panellists have shared their thoughts on everything from World Wildlife Fund's Sweater Day initiative to BC Hydro's online account services.

Some of the things customers have told us include...

  • Most people feel that it would be useful to view their electricity use online, with 42% who say being able to do this is very important and 37% of you who think this is somewhat important.
  • Most respondents feel the top benefits of smart meters are faster outage restoration (50%), improving service and preventing waste (39%) and reducing electricity consumption (26%).

Just visit yourpowerpoll.ca and follow the instructions. Any BC Hydro customer over the age of 18 living in B.C. is eligible to join. The only requirement is that you have Internet access and a valid email address.
