Hi all...
World Cup finals in Whistler were a great success for me as I won all five events there! It was an excellently run event and it seemed the other athletes from other countries were really impressed with Whistler and are looking forward to next year.
Our biggest success of the week was winning the overall Nations Cup for the 2008-2009 season. We went in to Whistler seven points behind Austria and finished the week 622 points ahead! Not only was this the first time in history that Canada has ever won the Nations Cup, which is the competition for overall team results, but it proved we could have great performances on the 2010 hill.
I’d like to thank the BC Hydro employees who took time to come out and watch me race – it was really great to see familiar faces in the crowd.
I’m off now for the Canadian Nationals, which are held at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops. This will be my last race of the season and I’m looking to end on a strong note before the training begins for next year.
