Four wins in five races at worlds in Korea. A reason to smile.
After a successful trip to the IPC World Championship in Korea (four wins out of five races!) I had a week to recuperate before heading to Whistler to prepare for the World Cup finals.
This race is also our test event in advance of the Paralympics next year so everyone is really excited to have the opportunity to race on the 2010 track. We've had two days of downhill training and it has gone really well for both me and my team – we've had the chance to train on the track before so we are hoping that advantage will pay off for the races.
The weather is freezing (minus 30 degrees!!) but the cold temperatures have made for a really good race track. We have four races here starting tomorrow Wednesday and ending Saturday – and I'm hoping to see a few familiar BC Hydro faces at the finish line!
Editor's note: A bonus photo from Lauren, who as a BC Hydro engineer couldn't resist the temptation to take a shot of a rather "artful" power pole in Korea.
