Media Advisory: No planned outages scheduled for Northwest B.C.
NORTHWEST B.C. – BC Hydro wants to communicate that its system of transmission and distribution lines remains secure despite the current flooding that is affecting communities in Northwest B.C.
No planned outages for any community are scheduled. Safety-related emergency disconnections to individual residences will take place as necessary due to high water.
If, in the event of widespread flooding, a larger outage was required, BC Hydro, in consultation with Provincial Emergency Program, will notify community officials, the general public and the media and provide as much notice as possible. Communication would take place via local radio and on our website.
