Power Smart offers free study of fan, blower, compressed air systems

Air is free, but the same can't be said for fans, blowers and compressed air systems. That's why BC Hydro is offering its industrial customers a free Energy Efficiency Feasibility Study of these systems this fall.

Businesses that apply between September 1 and November 30, 2008 will get a fully-funded study of their fan, blower and compressed air systems.

What the study will do

This Power Smart initiative will help businesses make a case for improving their system by determining:

  • How much they're currently spending on these systems;
  • How much they could save;
  • Available Power Smart incentives.

Who's eligible for the offer?

To qualify for the offer, organizations must:

  • Have a minimum of 200hp in the systems to be studied;
  • Apply for the funding between September 1 and November 30, 2008.

Power Smart will provide businesses with a list of dependable consultants who are part of the Power Smart Alliance. Businesses can opt to work directly with the consultant or to have BC Hydro direct the work. Power Smart engineers will also personally review the findings to ensure projected savings are accurate.

For details of the program, businesses can contact their BC Hydro key account manager or call 604.522.4713 in the Lower Mainland or 1.866.522.4713 elsewhere in B.C.
