An Earth Hour Climate Cafe in Fort St. John drew a crowd of 70 earlier this year.
On the night of Earth Hour 2009, young and old in Fort St. John packed the Whole Wheat & Honey Café to talk about climate change and enjoy some music by local artists by candelight.
Inspired by that gathering, organized in part by BC Hydro, similar Climate Cafés are set for October 17-22 in communities across B.C. These Climate Cafés will be led by a Power Smart specialist, and will focus on issues – electricity-related and beyond – that affect climate change.
Team Power Smart members are getting a special invitation to the event, and a small gift for attending. It's part of BC Hydro's plan to give Team Power Smart members every opportunity to get involved in conservation initiatives including the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup in September.
