LiveSmart BC has reached its three-year target of 40,000 initial home energy assessments in only 15 months.
The program is now fully committed and as such, will no longer provide incentives to new participants, effective end of business Aug. 15, 2009. For more information, visit LiveSmart BC's home rebates pages.
If you've had a LiveSmart BC energy audit
The program has incentives available for those who had their first audit completed before the end of business on August 15, 2009.
To access these incentives, the homeowner must complete their upgrades and have their second assessment completed within 18 months of the date of the first assessment, or March 31, 2011 – whichever comes first.
What's available after the deadline?
The federal ecoEnergy retrofit program is still available. The financial incentives through that program are very attractive and have been recently increased by 25%.

About LiveSmart BC
LiveSmart's residential program had been set up to complement incentives already offered by BC Hydro Power Smart and the federal government. It was designed to ensure that anyone who took part would understand what they can do to make a real difference to their home's energy consumption and reduce energy costs.
Incentives ran as high as $1,000 or more, and the program was based on subsidized before-and-after energy assessments that ensure the upgrades make sense.
The program utilized Natural Resources Canada's existing network of Certified Energy Advisors to provide valuable information about energy use in your own home. Energy assessment recommendations are structured to ensure that proposed home upgrades will work together to optimize energy efficiency and comfort, while maintaining healthy ventilation in the home.
A home's energy systems are interactive, so you really need a trained energy advisor to come in and assess the whole home as a unit.
By using energy more efficiently, British Columbians can reduce emissions and contribute to clean air, water and energy and a healthy environment for all Canadians.
