VANCOUVER – After working around the clock since Monday, BC Hydro crews have restored power to all customers that experienced outages after Monday's underground fire in downtown Vancouver.

BC Hydro restored power to approximately 100 customers during the day on Wednesday, with another 100 customers re-energized overnight, bringing all affected customers back into service.

"It should be full business as usual for downtown Vancouver this morning," said Gary Rodford, senior vice president of field operations. "I can't say enough about our crews that worked many long hours to get the job done."

As power is returned to areas of downtown Vancouver, BC Hydro continues to ask customers to conserve as much power as possible while the system returns to full capacity.

BC Hydro would again like to thank its customers for their patience and also thank the Vancouver fire and police departments for their cooperation and assistance during the outage and restoration period.

For non-media related calls, customers should call 1 888 POWERON (1 888 769-3766) or visit BC Hydro's website.
