Commercial Performance is the revenue from energy produced, expressed as a percentage of revenue that could have been produced had all generation needed to meet domestic load and trade opportunities been available. The measure captures Generation's ability to ensure equipment is available and reliable when needed plus the ability, working together with Powerex, to earn trade income. Over the past three years, historical performance in this measure showed a correlation with net trade activity. Years with better (higher percentage) performance were associated with years with lower net export trade. The target for F2006 of 99.6 per cent reflected the expected performance based on this historical correlation, even though the target was originally set more subjectively. The actual F2006 performance achieved exceeded the target reflecting the reduction of aproximately $8 million in unrealized trade income due to outages as compared to the expectation based on past performance.
