8. What are the next steps after the RFEOI?
Once submissions are received, BC Hydro's Energy Planning group will incorporate the information into its resource planning analysis and make a recommendation.

7. Will this affect the quality of the service in Fort Nelson?
No. Increasing supply is intended to maintain or increase reliability levels as regional load requirements continue to grow.

6. Are existing customers eligible to participate?
Yes. Existing industrial and commercial customers can respond to the RFEOI as long as their power generation is behind a separately metered interconnection.

5. BC Hydro has stated that independent power producer (IPP) development in the area is only one of the options being examined to meet future load growth. What are the other options?
BC Hydro will be looking at a number of options to meet potential growth needs, such as a call for power, expansion of the existing Fort Nelson gas-fired generating plant, and a new transmission line to the integrated system connecting Fort Nelson to the Peace Region.

4. Does the plant need to be located in BC?
Yes. It has been BC Hydro's long-standing practice to encourage the development of domestic electricity supply to ensure reliability and security of supply.

3. When do you want the energy?
In the event of a call for power, BC Hydro is interested in procuring energy as soon as commercially possible.

2. How much energy and capacity is BC Hydro looking for from the RFEOI?
The minimum plant size is 0.05 MW. BC Hydro is looking for energy and capacity sufficient to meet medium and long term demand requirements. In the event that BC Hydro issues a call for power, more specific information would be provided at that time.

1. Why is BC Hydro issuing an RFEOI for clean projects?
BC Hydro is developing a resource plan for the Fort Nelson area to assess future load growth and potential supply resources, including private sector clean projects.
