The Product Incentive Program is a great opportunity to grow your business and help develop the market for energy-efficient technologies. We provide financial incentives for your customers who replace existing inefficient products with eligible energy-efficient technologies.

Overview

The Product Incentive Program is designed to facilitate simple, quick and cost-effective one-to-one replacement of products and is not meant for complete lighting redesigns.

Program Eligibility

To receive incentive funding, a minimum of $50 financial incentive per application is required. More than one facility can be included in an application submission and customers are eligible to apply more than once.

How It Works

4 Easy Steps

1. Review your customer’s facility and make a list of current and eligible technologies.
   • Consult BC Hydro's lists of eligible retrofits [PDF, 356 Kb]and products before selecting and ordering for your customer
2. Purchase and install products.
   • Follow BC Hydro's Installation Standards [PDF, 131 Kb].
   • Products can be installed by:
     • Power Smart Alliance members. Power Smart Alliance member, he or she must complete and submit the application form [PDF, 91 Kb]for approval before purchasing the product.
     • Qualified in-house staff – internal staff can complete screw-in applications however a certified staff electrician with a permit is required for all hardwired projects.
     • Customers with preferred contractor – if your customers contractor is not a
3. Installation and online application must be complete within 120 days of invoice date. Mail all invoices and permits to:
