Allies On Deck for 2010 Lower Mainland Appreciation Event

Lower Mainland Allies set sail for a night of high jinx on the high seas at the 2010 Alliance Appreciation event. Held on March 18 aboard a “luxury cruise liner” – Vancouver’s Rocky Mountaineer Train Station transformed into a beautiful yacht – the event was an opportunity for Power Smart to once again show its appreciation to industrial and commercial Alliance members for their stellar efforts in promoting energy conservation.

Upon boarding the RMS Queen Mary, guests had the opportunity to visit three ports of call in Mexico, Greece and Morocco, where they feasted on each country’s culinary specialties and enjoyed traditional entertainment, such as a Mexican mariachi band and Moroccan-style belly dancing. A number of adventurers also tried their hand at fishing and golf, courtesy of the sport fishing and driving range simulators, while others relaxed with complimentary massages at the onsite ‘spa’.

About halfway through the evening, people were ushered into the ‘ship’s theatre’ for the awards portion of the event. Ten Alliance members were recognized for their contributions to energy efficiency, with each honouree receiving a black crystal wall plaque engraved with the company and Power Smart logos, and a personal message acknowledging his/her company’s contributions.

Congratulations to this year’s honourees!
