More Learning Opportunities for Members
We’re pleased to report that the new Alliance is in full swing. Thanks to all of you who have registered – we’ve had an excellent response.
If your firm is not yet registered, we urge you to do so as soon as possible. Beginning in February, we will be switching to a new Alliance system. At that time, unregistered firms will lose their membership status and, as a result, will no longer be able to enjoy Alliance benefits, such as customer referrals and invitations to business events.
The Alliance facilitates a wide range of learning opportunities for member firms and their registered employees. In addition to courses offered through BC Hydro, we encourage members to participate in programs that are offered through an accredited educational institution or industry association. Have a look at the variety of courses that are currently available.
Participation in courses that are listed on the Alliance website can count towards a member firm’s required number of Learning credits – as part of their membership requirements, member firms must earn a pre-determined number of Project, Learning and Event credits over a two-year membership period. Learning credits are earned by the member firm or its registered employees, depending on the type of learning event.
Please note that courses not listed on the Alliance website require prior approval from the Alliance to ensure eligibility.
Upon completion of an approved course, Alliance members will be credited and may be reimbursed for a portion of the costs. However, before this can happen, members must first complete the self-reporting course completion form[ 512 Kb] and submit it, along with supporting documentation, to the Alliance as confirmation that they have successfully finished the course.
Courses offered by BC Hydro do not require a member to submit a course completion form. Learning credit(s) will automatically be assigned to the registered individual’s member firm upon confirmed attendance.
